When cooling, It works by absorbing heat at the unit inside and rejecting it at the unit outside. To make the system heat instead of cool, there is a valve inside the outdoor unit that reverses the flow. by doing this the hot part of the system is now indoors and will heat your space to the desired temperature. this is a very effective, efficient and eco friendly way to heat your home.
